Jazz Blocks

Jazz Blocks is Juno Pike at her most rhythmic. Tilted squares and rectangles interlock across the canvas like chords stacked in a jazz progression, their flat fields of orange, cobalt, lime and purple separated by thick black outlines, a few striped panels adding swing. Pike keeps every edge crisp and every colour singing, so the eye hops from block to block as if following a melody. The diagonal tilt gives the whole composition a relaxed, improvisational energy. Bold, syncopated and beautifully balanced, it shows how Chromatic Pop can translate the feel of music into pure geometry — a visual riff in vivid colour.
